HEWFCU is in no way affected by the recent conservatorship of two corporate credit unions by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). NCUA, a government agency, conducts annual audits of the Credit Union's operations, including lending and deposit activity. HEWFCU has received excellent ratings each and every year from NCUA. HEWFCU does not engage in sub-prime loan activity. All HEWFCU member deposits are insured up to $250,000 by the NCUA and additional coverage of up to $250,000 is provided by Excess Share Insurance Corporation, a licensed insurance company.
